I'm better than I deserve.
We recently passed a fun milestone - we paid off our smallest debt (onwards and upwards!) and were also able to accomplish a goal that I’ve had in mind for awhile - Christina and I have talked about this since we first got married.
I’ve wanted for years to skip the grocery store markup and go directly to a farmer for beef. My colleague at the office is a farmer’s spouse.
We’ve never been in a position to cash flow this, as you need to have a PLAN in order to benefit from the economy of scale.
I’m so excited; we picked up our beef from Hilt’s Butcher Shop today. We split with my in-laws and brother and sister in law and boy, is there a lot of beef!
Some of the goals that you have will take longer than you think - in fact, I’d say that everything takes longer than you think.
One of the biggest challenges to doing something like this is to make sure that you have your bi-weekly cash-flow set up - we created a budget line with this beef order in mind and made sure to save accordingly, adjusting the rest of the budget to line up with this significant expense.
Take it slow, be patient with it - your goals, no matter how big or how small will come together with hard work and time. Stay in the here and now - looking back screws with your neck.
