Layaway. Cash account. Cash. Cheques. Debit. The mail.
Based on some of the conversations I've had in the past with my "old man friends" as Tina refers to them, my family and myself have stepped back 30+/- years in banking technology.
You know what's the best thing about it?
Certainty!
Do you know how many surprises I've experienced with my lumber yard cash on delivery account?
Absolutely none.
I put a cheque in to the snail mail and send it to a company I owe money to.
It takes two to three business days to get there, so I leave that line in my budget as unpaid until it's cashed.
The cancelled cheque image shows up in my online banking.
I'm able to survive without the credit card points.
Skip the bank for cheques - look in to Staples Copy and Print Centre - alternatively my mother in law uses ASAP Cheques - you may be surprised how much you enjoy some "old" approaches to money management.
On another note...
The Playhouse is coming along - the floor is a beaut!
Please text or comment back with your opinions - the trusses are next, followed by roof sheathing and siding.
Should I get it finished this weekend or keep poking away in stages?
