What Tina, HJ and I are doing isn't difficult.
It's the only option that we have.
We get the feedback frequently that other folks would have run out of gas on the debt freedom journey, that they would have given up or never started - just on a treadmill of overwhelm.
Okay, I respect that and we appreciate the compliment, but when you borrow money, you have to pay it back. There’s no overwhelm or never getting started here. There’s no two ways around this; debt is a thief.
This is what Christina and I talk about at least once a month. We have been clear of the debt marketing Kool-Aid for a year and a half now. We haven’t borrowed a dime since Feb 2019.
We can’t and won’t go back to where we came from because there’s nothing there. We’ve already been there and know the destruction that borrowing money causes.
If you want a good scare, read a loan, line of credit, lease, buy now pay later or credit card agreement. Find one or two things, (other than fraud protection which is also included with your debit card), that benefit you.
I don’t mean the part that if you spend $100,000 you’ll get $1,000 worth of groceries “free with your points”.
I mean try to find anything in your agreements with your creditors that protects you.
You’ll find that there is absolutely nothing there to help you.
Whether it’s you, our government, governments across the world, there’s no two ways about it; in order to eliminate your debt, you must stop borrowing money and pay back what you owe.
As far as overwhelm, as far as giving up, I don’t know about that.
What would that look like? Just not pay them back?
