Thursday thought; love languages

Words of affirmation Acts of service Receiving gifts Quality time Physical touch The Five Love Languages is a book by Dr Gary Chapman. In the book, Dr Chapman "...presents a simple truth: relationships grow better when we understand each other. Everyone gives and receives love differently, but with a little insight into these differences, we can be confidently equipped to communicate love well." Sorry, Dr Chapman, ol' Davey Baby's come around with thoughts of his own: you cannot have security in a relationship without a team approach to money management. You can be a romantic beast, look good, smell nice, cook well, parent like Mary Poppins - but if your partner and yourself aren't on the same page about how you manage your income, you're probably going to experience unnecessary stress. Having gone from Tina having absolutely no idea where our families' money goes to Tina walking co-workers through the Baby Steps, it's stunning how much of a difference it makes in your marriage. Car breaks down? -Emergency fund. Playhouse project? -Process called cash flowing. Not going to borrow money for it. Get on a written budget, stop borrowing money, save up your $1,000 emergency fund, arrange your debts in order of smallest to largest regardless of interest rate. You won't believe the impact it'll have on your relationship.
